She said:
“I welcome the A9 dualling statement from the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, which included a revised timetable, detail on the construction phase of the Tomatin-Moy section and an outline of the preparatory work for other sections of the road.
“This is a positive step towards advancing one of the largest infrastructure programmes ever undertaken in Scotland.
“I fully sympathise with my constituents’ frustrations over the delay to the programme.
“Too many lives have tragically been lost on the A9, and dualling the road is crucial to improving road safety, reducing casualties, and preventing fatalities.
“I hope this statement will reassure communities across the Highlands of the Scottish Government’s resolute commitment to completing the A9 dualling programme.
“I look forward to seeing progress on the ground soon.”
