Michael Gregson Wins Ward 14 Inverness Central By-Election

The by-election to elect a councillor to represent Ward 14 – Inverness Central on The Highland Council has been won by Michael Gregson – Scottish Labour Party who was one of six candidates who contested the vacancy.

Voters in the ward went to the poll yesterday (Thursday 26 September) and the by-election count was held this morning in the Inverness Town House.

Voting was by the single transferable vote and Michael Gregson emerged as the winner at stage 6 of the electronic count.

The turnout was 20.3%.

Michael Gregson will join Councillors Michael Cameron (Scottish National Party) and Kate MacLean (Scottish National Party in representing Ward 14 on The Highland Council.
