Missing Moray Man Gordon Bowie Last Seen in Glasgow as Police Renew Appeal

Police searching for missing Moray man Gordon Bowie have confirmed he travelled to Glasgow, with officers increasingly concerned for the 59 year old’s welfare.

Gordon was last seen on North Frederick Street in Glasgow at approximately 5.25am on Wednesday 28 October, walking in the direction of Queen Street.

The latest sighting marks a significant development in the search after he was previously reported missing from the Portgordon area of Moray.

He had last been seen there at approximately 11.30am on Tuesday 27 October.

Police Scotland has now renewed its appeal, asking people in Glasgow and the surrounding area to remain alert and report any possible sightings.

Gordon is described as 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, jeans and brown boots.

Officers have confirmed that he does not have access to a vehicle.

Sergeant Sammi Jacques said:

“We are growing concerned for the welfare of Gordon and are appealing for anyone who sees him to get in touch.

“We know he has travelled to the Glasgow area and would ask anyone who has seen him or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us.

“We would appeal to residents to check outbuildings and sheds in case he has sought shelter there, along with those who have private CCTV or doorbell footage, you may have captured something.”

Police are encouraging residents and businesses to check any available CCTV or doorbell recordings that could help establish Gordon’s movements.

Anyone who was in the North Frederick Street or Queen Street area early on Wednesday morning may have information that could assist officers.

The appeal also asks people to check sheds and outbuildings in case Gordon has sought shelter.

With the search now extending from Moray to Glasgow, sharing his description and the latest confirmed sighting could help bring vital information to the attention of police.

Anyone who has seen Gordon or knows where he might be is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 3510 of 27 October 2026.
