A 59-year-old man has died following a crash on the A832 near Inverewe, Wester Ross, on Thursday afternoon.
The collision happened around 3.10pm between the Inverewe viewpoint and Tournaig, and involved a white Triumph Tiger motorcycle and a silver Ford Transit camper van.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the camper van were not injured.
Emergency services closed the road for several hours while investigations were carried out.
It reopened at 9.45pm the same day.
Officers are working to understand exactly what happened and are asking anyone who saw the crash, or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time, to get in touch.
The man’s next of kin have been informed.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the motorcyclist who died,” said Sergeant Ewan Calder, who is leading the investigation.
“We’d like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant footage and hasn’t already come forward.”
The A832 is a popular route with drivers and motorcyclists, winding through some of the Highlands’ most dramatic landscapes.
