A motorcyclist who died following a crash on the Isle of Lewis has been named by police as 56 year old Roland Crichton from Mull.
The crash happened on the A857 Ness to Stornoway road near New Park, Newmarket, at around 4.40pm on Saturday 22 August.
It involved a silver MG and a black BMW S1000 RS motorcycle.
Emergency services attended and Mr Crichton was taken to Western Isles Hospital, where he died.
His family are aware and there were no other injuries reported.
A 44 year old man has been arrested in connection with the crash and police enquiries remain ongoing.
Police Sergeant Scott MacDonald said:
“Our thoughts remain with Mr Crichton’s family at this incredibly sad time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Anyone who has not already spoken to police and has information they believe may assist is as to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam footage that could assist to get in touch.”
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw either vehicle beforehand, to come forward.
Officers would also like to hear from motorists who were travelling in the area and may have relevant dash cam footage.
