A 37 year old motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries following a serious collision with a lorry on the A82 at Spean Bridge on Monday evening.

The crash happened at around 6.40pm on Monday 10 August near the Commando Memorial in Lochaber and involved a grey BMW GS850 motorcycle with distinctive yellow wheels and a white Scania R450 lorry.

Emergency services attended and the motorcyclist was taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William for treatment to injuries described as life threatening.

Police have confirmed that his condition is now described as stable.

The driver of the lorry was not injured in the collision.

The A82 was closed while officers carried out crash investigation work at the scene, with the road reopening at around 1.15am on Tuesday 11 August.

Police Scotland is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or was travelling through the area around the time of the crash to come forward.

Officers are particularly interested in obtaining dash cam footage which may have captured either the collision or something that could assist their investigation.

Sergeant Chris Donaldson said:

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we area appealing for information that could assist with our investigation.

“We are asking anyone in the area who saw what happened to get in touch.

“In particular, if you were driving in the area around the time of the crash please check any dash-cam footage you have to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
