A beloved classic is leaping from page to stage once again, and this time it’s heading straight for the Highlands.

The spellbinding West End production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is set to enchant audiences at Eden Court, Inverness from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 June 2025.

This dazzling theatrical experience arrives as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of C.S. Lewis’ iconic novel, first published in October 1950.

With over 85 million copies sold in more than 60 languages, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe remains one of the world’s best-loved stories, and this acclaimed adaptation captures every drop of its timeless magic.

Audiences are invited to step through the wardrobe and into the frosted realm of Narnia, where Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter leave wartime Britain behind and encounter talking animals, fauns, and the mighty lion Aslan, as they battle to overthrow the White Witch and restore hope to a land locked in winter.

This enchanting production, which wowed crowds and critics alike during its recent London run, is directed by Michael Fentiman and based on the original vision of Sally Cookson.

The show’s breathtaking visuals come courtesy of set and costume designer Tom Paris, while the wintry world of Narnia is brought to life through the music of Barnaby Race and Benji Bower, and choreography by Shannelle ‘Tali’ Fergus.

A true theatrical feast, the production blends puppetry, illusion, aerial spectacle and heartfelt storytelling, creating a world both intimate and epic.

Toby Olié’s puppetry direction, Max Humphries’ puppetry design, and the aerial artistry of Gwen Hales bring Lewis’ fantasy realm to life in thrilling new ways.

With a creative team that includes sound designer Tom Marshall, lighting designer Jack Knowles, illusionist Chris Fisher, and wigs, hair and make-up designer Susanna Peretz, every detail of this production is finely tuned to transport audiences completely.

Produced by Chris Harper Productions and Catherine Schreiber, the show was first staged at the Leeds Playhouse before taking the West End by storm.

Now, as part of its UK tour, this stirring adaptation brings its magic north, inviting Highland audiences to relive one of literature’s most treasured tales.

Tickets are expected to sell fast for this short run in Inverness, so be sure to secure your place at the wardrobe door.
