New Manager at East Sutherland CAB The East Sutherland and Central branch of the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) have appointed James Sutherland to the position of manager.
Sutherland has worked for ESCAB for 18 years.
Rebecca Machin, the recently appointed Chair of ESCAB, said:
“James has covered so many different roles within the bureau over his tenure.
“He’s been a volunteer adviser, a generalist adviser, a receptionist, cleaner, odd job man, welfare rights adviser, a senior welfare rights adviser, a session supervisor, deputy manager, and acting manager over two spells.
“By any means, James has been a stalwart of the bureau for many years, highly valued by colleagues and clients alike for his hard work, kindness and attention to detail.
James stated:
“I have taken on several projects during my time at the bureau, including being one of four Bureaus in Scotland to be the pilot scheme for Universal Credit help to claim.
“When I was first taken on as staff, three days a week, this was as a client access officer, who specifically dealt with vulnerable clients who had trouble accessing the service.
“That project raised £487,000 Client financial gain in one year for our clients.
Machin concluded saying:
“We are so pleased that James has agreed to take on the post full time.
“Between his willingness to do whatever job is necessary and his years of experience and his compassion, the ESCAB could not be in better hands.”
