The new Peugeot 408 has been unveiled as a striking fastback designed to combine distinctive French styling, modern electrified power and everyday comfort in a single, confident package.

Built in France at Mulhouse, the new 408 is positioned as a statement car for drivers who want something that looks different on the road while still delivering practicality, technology and efficiency.

From the first glance, the 408 stands apart thanks to its fastback silhouette, sharply sculpted lines and strong stance, blending a raised driving position with a sleek, flowing profile.

One of the most eye catching updates is the lighting design, with the new 408 becoming the first Peugeot to feature illuminated Peugeot lettering across the rear, paired with an illuminated shield at the front on higher trims.

At the front, the brand’s signature three claw lighting has been reimagined as slim LED strips that also act as scrolling indicators, while the main headlamps are discreetly positioned lower in the bumper to preserve the car’s focused and piercing look.

A new exclusive Flare Green body colour also makes its debut, shifting in tone depending on the light, from bright yellow hues in sunshine to deep green in shade, highlighting the car’s sculpted surfaces and bold character.

Inside, the emphasis is on refinement and simplicity, with a redesigned digital instrument display offering clearer graphics as standard and optional three dimensional visuals on higher specifications.

The cabin is centred around the Peugeot i Cockpit, combining a compact steering wheel, a 10 inch digital display positioned in the driver’s line of sight, and a central 10 inch touchscreen angled towards the driver for ease of use.

Customisable i Toggles allow quick access to favourite settings, while ambient lighting with eight colour choices extends across the dashboard and door panels to create a calm and premium feel.

The new 408 is offered with a full range of electrified power options, including electric, plug in hybrid and mild hybrid variants, allowing drivers to choose what best suits their daily driving.

The fully electric E 408 delivers 213 PS and a driving range of up to 283 miles, with fast charging allowing a 20 percent to 80 percent recharge in around 30 minutes.

Plug in hybrid versions offer strong performance alongside the ability to complete most daily journeys using electric power alone, while the mild hybrid option focuses on smooth efficiency and reduced fuel use, particularly in town.

Comfort has clearly been prioritised, with supportive front seats available with electric adjustment, heating and massage functions, while rear passengers benefit from generous legroom and space.

The boot offers up to 536 litres of storage, expanding to 1,611 litres with the rear seats folded, making the 408 well suited to everyday life as well as longer trips.

Safety and connectivity are also central to the package, with features including driver monitoring technology, over the air software updates, and smartphone integration through the MyPeugeot app.

Peugeot says the new 408 is designed to stand out without sacrificing comfort or usability, offering a modern alternative for drivers who want style, electric choice and French character in one distinctive car.
