The Archie Foundation is inviting daredevils across the Highlands to step off the edge for a cause that couldn’t matter more.
On Saturday 27 September, a select group of fundraisers will have the rare chance to abseil from the highest tower of Dunrobin Castle in Golspie, in what promises to be an unforgettable and meaningful adventure.
With only 50 spaces available, this is the final time the public will be able to abseil from the historic castle, making it a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Every rope, harness and helmet will be handled by the expert team at Active Outdoor Pursuits, who will guide participants safely down the tower’s sheer drop.
Registration costs £50, with each abseiler encouraged to fundraise for The Archie Foundation through their own personal donation pages.
All money raised will go directly towards supporting babies, children and families in need across the Highlands, Grampian and Tayside.
Neil McGregor, business development and fundraising manager for The Archie Foundation in the Highlands, says the event is about much more than thrills.
“The abseil is a fantastic event that combines the thrill of adventure with the joy of making a difference,” he said.
“Previous abseils have raised thousands of pounds, and we hope this one will do the same.”
“We’re always amazed by the spirit and generosity of those who take part, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helps bring this to life.”
Dunrobin Castle, with its towering spires and sea views, offers a stunning setting for the challenge.
Scott Clark, the castle’s general manager, says they’re proud to support the effort.
“Our last event three years ago saw an incredible amount raised,” he said.
“People of all ages and experience levels took part, from first-time abseilers to seasoned thrill-seekers.”
“It’s brilliant to see the community come together for a cause that touches so many lives.”
The Archie Foundation delivers practical, financial and emotional support to children and families through some of life’s most difficult moments, from serious illness to long hospital stays and bereavement.
Whether you’re chasing adrenaline or just looking for a new way to give back, this is your chance to be part of something extraordinary.
The ropes are ready.
The tower awaits.
And every penny raised will help a family when they need it most.
