Would you like to unlock the secret to resolving conflict within relationships?

The Council’s Early Years Team are offering free places at a workshop for parents and carers with Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, a research scientist and developmental psychologist who believes that the “Rupture-Repair Cycle” holds the key.

The session, which is particularly suitable for parents and carers of children aged 0-12, is on Tuesday 29 October from 7pm-8.30pm at Kirkwall Grammar School.

Dr Zeedyk said:

“Tension happens all the time in relationships, whether that’s with your child or partner or even good friends.

“How do you resolve those moments, and can it be done in a way that actually helps to strengthen the bonds within that relationships?

“The Rupture-Repair Cycle holds the key.”

The Council’s Early Learning and Childcare Service Manager, Catherine Diamond, said:

“We are delighted to welcome back Suzanne to Orkney and would welcome parents and carers joining the session to find out more about relationships.

“Suzanne makes the science of connection fun and relatable.

“We hope you’ll leave the session feeling confident – and probably want to watch again some of the Pixar films she will no doubt talk about!”

Spaces are limited so please book by emailing aphra.worthington@orkney.gov.uk or phone 01856 873535 ext 2473.
