Pigs in Blankets Spark Culinary Celebration Across The Nation

Aldi’s latest research reveals a mouth-watering festive phenomenon sweeping the United Kingdom.

A staggering 668 million pigs in blankets are set to be devoured this Christmas, with the average person indulging in 11.2 of these delectable treats.

Edinburgh locals are predicted to enjoy 8.8 pigs in blankets each, totalling an impressive 4.9 million across the festive season.

Julie Ashfield, Aldi’s Managing Director of Buying, describes the pig in blanket as the undisputed monarch of Christmas dinner spreads.

Last year’s sales of 42 million pigs in blankets are expected to climb to a record-breaking 46 million this year.

Londoners top the pig in blanket consumption chart with an average of 13.7 per person, followed closely by Sheffield and Newcastle Upon Tyne.
