There’s something stirring in Dornoch and it starts with the skirl of pipes at 11am sharp.
This Saturday, 26 July, the Dornoch Music & Beer Festival opens in full voice, kicking off with a grand entrance led by the mighty Caledonian Pipe Band.
They’ll be marching revellers onto the festival site in a moment of Highland pride that sets the tone for the day, bold, brilliant and unmistakably local.
Early birds are encouraged to be there for the opening, with a token booth in place just before the entrance so arrivals can grab tokens for drinks and food before stepping through the gates.
And if the organisers have anything to say about it, this isn’t your typical overpriced festival.
They’re keeping prices grounded to make sure this day stays true to its roots, a celebration for the locals, by the locals.
Once inside, expect a day packed with live music, laughter and more than a few hoppy discoveries.
The legendary beer tent will be brimming with over 100 beers and ciders from across the UK and beyond, a paradise for craft lovers and curious sippers alike.
There’ll be food stalls to keep you fuelled, kids’ activities for the wee ones, and enough energy in the air to keep toes tapping from dawn to dusk.
The official music line-up is nothing short of electric.
From the world-famous Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Highland favourites Rhythm N Reel, to the soaring vocals of Scooty & The Skyhooks, the traditional fire of Rant, and the local talent of Cameron Ferguson, Davie Macbeth & The Ceilidh Express, The Impact and John B’s Daughter, it’s a celebration of sound, spirit and the Highlands at their very best.
And keeping it all stitched together, Scotland’s boldest comedy duo, Rab & Joe, better known as Rude & Good.
They’ll be your mischievous hosts for the day, hopping across the site with a mic in hand and a cheeky grin at the ready.
Expect laughs, interviews, quick-fire banter and a few gentle roasts if you dare to stand too close.
Whether you’re there for the music, the beer, the banter or simply the joy of being part of something made with love and laughter, Dornoch is the place to be this Saturday.
Bring your pals, your family, your dancing shoes and be there for the pipes at 11.
