Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash involving a cyclist and a car in Inverness on Wednesday 25 February 2026.
The collision happened at around 3.50pm on Southside Road at the junction with Kingsmill Road.
A 30 year old man who was riding the bicycle was taken to hospital with what have been described as serious injuries.
No one else was reported injured.
The area was busy at the time, with mid afternoon traffic moving through one of the city’s main residential routes.
Officers are now trying to piece together exactly what happened in the moments before the crash.
Constable Jordan Scott said:
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to speak to officers to come forward with any information.
“I would ask those who were driving in the area at the time, or who have private CCTV nearby, to please review this to see if it has captured anything of significance.”
Police are particularly keen to hear from drivers who were in the area around the time of the collision and may have dashcam footage.

Incidents like this are a stark reminder of how quickly a normal journey can turn into something far more serious.
