Police Scotland is appealing for information after three men broke into premises on Dores Road in Inverness during the early hours of Sunday morning, stealing alcohol and a quantity of cash before leaving the area on mountain bikes.
The incident happened at approximately 1am on Sunday 11 October 2026, with detectives now asking residents and motorists to help identify those responsible.
Officers have released detailed descriptions of the three men, who were all travelling on dark coloured mountain bikes.
The first man was wearing a grey beanie hat, black snood, black jacket and black jogging bottoms tucked into white socks.
He also wore black trainers with a white or holographic lining, red gloves and carried a black backpack.
The second man was wearing a black hooded jacket, black face covering, yellow top, black trousers, black trainers and gloves.
The third man was wearing a checkered style baseball cap, khaki jacket, grey jogging bottoms and black trainers, and was carrying a blue backpack.
Detectives believe information from people who were in the Dores Road area around the time of the break in could help establish the movements of the three men.
They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who noticed suspicious activity or saw people matching the descriptions travelling on mountain bikes.
Residents with private CCTV cameras are also being encouraged to examine their recordings, while motorists who were driving through the area overnight are asked to check any available dashcam footage.
Even recordings that do not show the break in itself could provide useful information about where the men travelled before or after the incident.
Detective Sergeant Laura MacKay said: “
I am appealing to anyone in the local area who saw something suspicious, or anyone matching the descriptions above, to come forward and speak to officers.
“I’d also ask that those who live locally with private CCTV or dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
Police have not disclosed the identity of the premises involved or the value of the alcohol and cash stolen.
Anyone who recognises the clothing descriptions, saw three men cycling together in the area or has information which could assist the investigation is urged to contact Police Scotland.
Officers can be reached on 101, quoting incident number 0188 of 11 October 2026.
Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police are continuing their enquiries and are asking anyone who may be able to help, however small the detail might seem, to come forward.
