Police are appealing for information following a serious crash on the B9076 Scatsta Airport Road in Shetland.

The collision happened at around 12.45am on Sunday 12 July and involved a white Toyota Hilux.

The male passenger in the pick up was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a critical condition.

Police Scotland said the 30 year old driver was arrested in connection with the incident before being released pending further enquiries.

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Sergeant Scott MacDonald said:

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of this crash and I am appealing for anyone who saw the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”
