Police Appeal for Information After Serious Assault in Elgin

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was left in a critical condition following a serious assault in Elgin on Friday afternoon.

The incident happened around 3.15pm on 14 November on Harrow Inn Close, where two men were involved in an altercation outside a business premises.

A 55-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Police are searching for a suspect described as white, in his twenties, of slim build, with short ginger hair and a local accent. H

e was wearing black jogging bottoms, gloves and a black Napapijri hooded jacket, and was seen riding a mountain bike on South Street shortly before the assault.

Detective Inspector Andrew Wilson said officers were pursuing several active lines of enquiry.

“I understand this incident will be concerning for the local community, and I can reassure them that detectives are following several lines of enquiry, including interviewing witnesses and reviewing relevant CCTV footage,” he said.

“I am also appealing directly to the man involved to come forward at this stage and speak to officers.”
