Police are appealing for information after a serious two vehicle collision on the A9 left two people in hospital and a third treated for injuries.
The crash happened around half a mile south of the Ralia junction at 6pm on 2 December and involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a silver Kia Sportage.
A 35 year old woman who was a passenger in the Kia was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Kia, a 34 year old man, was taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 26 year old man, was taken to Raigmore Hospital by road ambulance and has since been discharged.
The road was closed for around eight hours while crash investigators examined the scene.
Sergeant Scott MacDonald said:
“Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash and I’m appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“Did you see what happened or see either vehicle before the crash?
“Do you have dash cam footage of the area around the time which may have captured something of significance?
“We are also keen to speak with the driver of a BMW car who we believe has witnessed the collision.
“If you have any information which may help our investigation, please contact 101 quoting reference 2442 of 2 December.”
Police Scotland hope that anyone travelling on that stretch of road will check dash cam footage and help officers piece together the moments leading up to the collision.
