Parents and carers can now enrol their children for Primary 1 starting in August 2025, with online applications open today.
Children who will turn five years old on or before 28 February 2026 are eligible for enrolment into the upcoming school session.
Highland Council has made the enrolment process simple by providing an online form at www.highland.gov.uk/enrol, which also includes guidance on catchment areas, Gaelic Medium education, school transport, and placing requests.
If you’re planning for your child to attend a school outside your designated catchment area, you must first enrol at your local catchment school before submitting a placing request.
The enrolment period for Highland schools runs from Monday 27 January to Friday 31 January 2025, so don’t miss this important window.
After completing the online enrolment, your child’s school will get in touch to arrange induction sessions to prepare them for their exciting start in Primary 1.
Families without internet access can still enrol their children by contacting their local catchment school during the enrolment week to request a paper copy of the form.
Make sure to act now and get everything set for your child’s school journey starting in August 2025.
