Skye and Raasay Area Committee met recently (Monday 22 May 2023) and agreed the homologation of Deer Park – Pàirc nam Fiadh as the new street name for a 5 house development on the Isle of Raasay.
Skye and Raasay Area Committee Chair, Cllr John Finlayson said:
“We are delighted that the new 5 house development on the Isle of Raasay can officially be registered as Deer Park – Pàirc nam Fiadh.
“The developer suggested the name and the Council’s Corporate Address Gazetteer team brought the suggested name to a Community Council meeting; however, a final decision or alternative was unable to be reached and as a matter of urgency due to the requirement for service requests to have an address, Members at an Area Business Meeting on 17 April 2023, indicated their support for the proposed name and the final approval granted today.”
Under the scheme of delegation, the naming of new buildings and streets within the Council’s control is under the remit of the Isle of Skye and Raasay Area Committee.
