Rude and Good will return to host the Dornoch Music Festival across both days this July, bringing their Highland humour and crowd energy back to one of the region’s fastest growing events.
The Inverness based comedy duo, Rab Mulheron and Joe Sweeney, will take to the stage between sets, keeping the atmosphere alive as festival goers gather for a packed weekend of live music in Dornoch.
Organisers say the festival is building a reputation for its welcoming, family friendly feel, with Rude and Good playing a key role in shaping the tone across the weekend.
Rab Mulheron said:
“We love this festival because it reminds us of what Belladrum felt like in the early days, it is proper, it is real, and it is all about the people.”
Joe Sweeney added:
“There is something special about Dornoch in July, it has that mini Glastonbury feel, but on a scale where you can still speak to people, have a laugh, and feel part of it.”
The duo, who have been performing together since 2017, are known for their sharp storytelling and natural connection with audiences, adapting their style to suit everything from comedy clubs to major festivals.
While their stand up shows are often bold and unfiltered, their role at Dornoch is firmly about bringing people together, keeping the energy high, and making sure everyone feels part of the experience.
Between performances from headline acts including The Tumbling Paddies and The Hoosiers, Rude and Good will be out among the crowd, chatting to festival goers, sharing stories, and bringing those moments back to the stage.
Their approach is simple, the festival is as much about the people attending as it is about the music.
Rab said:
“The characters you meet at festivals are half the story, we will be out there speaking to as many people as we can and bringing that craic back into the show.”
Joe added:
“It would not be the same without the crowd, so we make sure they are part of it, not just watching it.”
With appearances at venues such as Eden Court Theatre and major festivals including the Edinburgh Fringe and Belladrum, the pair have built a reputation as one of the Highlands’ most recognisable comedy acts.
Their return to Dornoch reflects both their connection to the festival and the growing sense that the event is becoming a standout date in the Highland summer calendar.
Rude and Good will once again host the Dornoch Music Festival this July, bringing humour, energy and crowd connection to a weekend that continues to grow in reputation and spirit.
