Scooty And The Skyhooks Set To Light Up Dornoch Stage

Scooty and the Skyhooks will bring four decades of soul and Motown energy to the Dornoch Music Festival on Saturday 18 July.

Formed in the Highlands in 1984 by four Beauly lads with a shared love of music, the band has grown into one of the most recognisable and well loved acts in the North of Scotland.

Now a musical powerhouse, they have built a reputation for turning any crowd into a party with their lively mix of soul classics and timeless favourites.

Their journey has taken them from local venues to major festival stages, performing alongside some of the biggest names in music.

Over the years they have shared the stage with artists including Jools Holland, Texas, Runrig, Craig Charles and Deacon Blue, as well as supporting acts such as Showaddywaddy, Sister Sledge and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas.

Their staying power is no accident.

In 2009 the band reunited for what was meant to be a one off show, only for demand to surge and bookings to follow, proving just how strong their following remains.

That momentum has carried through to recent years, including a sell out 40th anniversary tour that confirmed their place at the heart of Highland music.

Known for creating a party atmosphere wherever they play, Scooty and the Skyhooks have become synonymous with big crowds, familiar tunes and memories that stay with people long after the music stops.

Their sound, rooted in classic soul and Motown, continues to resonate across generations, drawing crowds who know exactly what they are getting.

Big tunes, strong vocals and a band that knows how to deliver.

Their appearance at Dornoch adds a familiar and much loved name to the festival line up, bringing with it a sense of celebration and Highland pride.

When they take to the stage on the Saturday, the expectation is simple.

The music will carry across the field, the crowd will be moving and the atmosphere will build from the first note to the last.
