Scotland’s festival scene has come together for the first time to launch a nationwide fundraising collaboration supporting food banks during the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The Mega Festival Giveaway brings together Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Skye Live, The Gathering, HebCelt, Eilean Dorcha Festival, Tunes By The Dunes, and Black Isle Calling.

Together, the festivals have launched a shared fundraising initiative offering one standout prize that celebrates the scale and diversity of Scotland’s live music scene.

Each participating festival has donated a pair of tickets to its 2026 event, creating a single Mega Festival Giveaway prize spanning the Highlands and Islands.

Festival fans can enter by making a minimum £10 donation via a newly launched Crowdfunder.

All funds raised will be split between food banks local to each participating festival, directly supporting communities facing rising living costs.

The campaign launches at 5pm on Friday 16th of January 2026 across the festivals’ social media channels.

The giveaway will run for four weeks, using the collective reach of the events sector to raise awareness and vital funds.

Organisers say the initiative highlights the power of collaboration at a time when both festivals and local communities are under growing financial pressure.

The project also reinforces the role festivals play beyond entertainment, acting as active contributors to the places that host them.

By pooling audiences, platforms, and resources, the organisers hope to maximise donations while showcasing the strength of Scotland’s festival culture.

The collaboration focuses particularly on the Highlands and Islands, where festivals remain deeply rooted in their communities.

One organiser said the initiative reflects shared values across the live events sector.

“This collaboration is about coming together as one festival community to support the places and people that support us.

“Live events are rooted in their local areas, and this is a small but meaningful way for some of the Highlands and Islands festivals to give something back while celebrating the strength of our collective scene.”
