Scottish football fans can look forward to a packed calendar of televised clashes in the coming months, as the SPFL confirms the latest William Hill Premiership and Championship matches selected for live broadcast.

The first Dundee derby of the season will take centre stage at Dens Park on Sunday 31 August, kicking off at 2.00pm live on Premier Sports, following the already-confirmed Old Firm showdown between Rangers and Celtic, which will air earlier that day on Sky Sports at 12 noon.

Selections now cover rounds three and four through to the end of August, as well as key festive fixtures from 27 December to 3 January, offering fans and clubs early notice during one of the busiest periods of the season.

Two round three games remain subject to change under the SPFL’s new policy aimed at supporting clubs involved in UEFA competition play-offs.

Premier Sports has selected Falkirk v Hibernian for live coverage on Saturday 23 August, with a 5.45pm kick-off, though the fixture will be postponed if Hibernian progress in either the Europa League or Conference League.

Similarly, Sky Sports has picked St Mirren v Rangers for live broadcast in round three, but confirmation of that match will depend on Rangers’ European commitments.

Meanwhile, Dundee United v Aberdeen originally scheduled for the same Saturday has been postponed following Aberdeen’s progression to the Europa League play-off stage.

Rescheduled dates for postponed matches will be announced after UEFA’s league phase fixtures are finalised at the end of August.

Festive football fans are also in for a treat, with three back-to-back William Hill Premiership games lined up on Saturday 27 December.

The Edinburgh derby kicks off the day on Sky Sports at 12.30pm, followed by Livingston v Celtic at 3.00pm, also on Sky Sports, and then Aberdeen v Dundee United live on Premier Sports at 5.45pm.

Motherwell v Celtic will air on Premier Sports at 8.00pm on Tuesday 30 December.

And on Saturday 3 January, the second Dundee derby of the season will be broadcast live from Tannadice at 3.00pm on Sky Sports, following Celtic v Rangers which kicks off at 12.30pm.

Elsewhere, BBC Scotland will air the Fife derby between Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic on Friday 22 August at 7.45pm, the third Championship fixture of the 2025/26 season to be selected for live coverage.

The months ahead promise fierce rivalries, crucial points, and high-stakes drama all playing out in living rooms across the country.
