Seachdain na GĂ idhlig (World Gaelic Week) has announced its latest annual festival, with support from Bord na GĂ idhlig.

Events locally and abroad run from 20 – 26 February 2023 and celebrate Scottish Gaelic around the world.

With an overarching theme of Coming Together, Seachdain na GĂ idhlig 2023 aims to build on its 2022 success by uniting people within their own communities.

Seachdain na GĂ idhlig connects people from all walks of life right across the world to promote, use and learn Gaelic, through a coordinated network of activities.

Moray Council’s Gaelic language champion in the Communities CLD team, Karen Delaney, said:

“Our draft Gaelic Plan is with Bord na Gàidhlig, so we’re looking forward to progressing that when it’s approved.

“Our exciting programme for Seachdain na GĂ idhlig 2023 sets the bar for us to implement that in future.

“Of particular note is Ian Taylor, a native of Elgin, who’ll share his knowledge on Gaelic in Moray up to the 20thcentury – definitely an event not to be missed!”

More information on the programme of events can be found online.
