A limited number of childcare places are being offered to parents or carers of frontline staff in order to protect essential services during the school closure period.

This is for people who have exhausted all other childcare options.

Frontline staff may include:

Health Care

Social Care Workers

Emergency Services

Any other service which is classified as essential work as defined by Emergency Planning

Children’s Services will provide childcare through the following providers.

Hame Fae Hame

Peerie Foxes

Isles Haven Nursery (3-5 year olds)

Islesburgh Out of School Club (5 years +)

If you are a worker in any of the above categories and require childcare to allow you to attend your place of employment, please email ELC@shetland.gov.uk to request an Emergency Childcare Registration Form.

Completed forms should be returned to the inbox by 11.00am on Monday 16th March 2020.

All requests will be considered on Monday and Children’s Services will inform you with the outcome of your request as soon as possible thereafter.
