Shinty action continued across Scotland on Saturday 28th March 2026, with a reduced fixture list due to unplayable pitches but still enough action to deliver goals, tight contests and early signs of form across the divisions.
Weather disruption played a significant role across the Highlands, with several matches postponed or reversed, but where games were played there was no shortage of quality or intent.
In the Mowi Premiership, Caberfeidh secured a hard fought 2–1 win over Lochaber, with early goals from Ewan Campbell and Gavin MacLaughlan setting the platform before Stuart Callison pulled one back in the second half.
Newtonmore edged a crucial 1–0 victory over Kingussie, with Declan Brannan striking inside the opening minutes in a match that could prove significant as the season develops.
In the National Division, Lovat and Glenurquhart shared the points in a 2–2 draw, with Lewis Tawse and Marc MacLachlan on target for Lovat, while Charlie MacLeod struck twice for Glenurquhart.
North Division 1 delivered one of the most competitive fixtures of the weekend, as Caberfeidh edged Glenurquhart 3–2 in a closely fought encounter, while Glengarry recorded an impressive 3–1 win over Inverness.
Kingussie and Newtonmore played out a 1–1 draw in another evenly matched contest, underlining how tight the division already looks.
In South Division 1, Aberdour produced a solid 2–0 win over Lochside Rovers, while Ardnamurchan delivered one of the standout attacking performances of the weekend with a 6–3 victory over Kyles Athletic.
North Division 2 saw Aberdeen University hit five without reply against Boleskine, while Lewis matched that tally in a 5–1 win over Inverness in a dominant display.
In South Division 2, Strachur Dunoon delivered the biggest result of the weekend with a commanding 9–0 victory over Tayforth, while Bute secured a 2–0 win against Stirling.
Uddingston were awarded the points in their scheduled fixture against Aberdour after the visitors were unable to field a team.
While conditions limited the full fixture list, the matches that did go ahead provided enough evidence that the season is beginning to take shape, with early momentum building across the Highlands.
