Shinty action continued across Scotland over the weekend, with goals flowing in fixtures across the Mowi Premiership and divisions below as early season form and momentum began to take shape.
This round of fixtures delivered goals, tight contests and a few early warnings to the rest of the field, with several sides already showing their intent.
In the Mowi Premiership, Fort William edged a close 2–1 win over Kyles Athletic, with Archie MacKinnon and Mark Fraser on target before a late reply from Roan MacVicar.
Kingussie matched that scoreline against Caberfeidh, where a late penalty from Alexander Michie secured the points after Logan Beaton had levelled earlier in the second half.
Kinlochshiel continued their strong start with a 2–1 win away at Lochaber, while Oban Camanachd impressed in a 3–1 victory over Col Glen, with Lewis Cameron finding the net twice.
Newtonmore made a clear early statement with a controlled 3–0 win over Skye, setting a marker for the weeks ahead.
In the National Division, Glasgow Mid Argyll produced the most emphatic result of the day with a 7–1 win over Oban Celtic, while Inveraray secured a convincing 4–1 victory against Beauly.
Lovat also claimed a 3–1 win over Bute, while Glenurquhart saw off Kilmallie by the same scoreline in a composed performance.
North Division 1 saw goals in abundance, with Kingussie hitting six against Caberfeidh and Newtonmore scoring five without reply against Skye, while Glenurquhart edged a lively 4–2 win over Kinlochshiel.
In the South, Lochside Rovers took a strong 3–1 win over Kyles Athletic, and Ballachulish secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Ardnamurchan.
North Division 2 delivered drama and high scoring, with Inverness recording a 7–0 win over Strathglass and Lewis edging a thrilling 4–3 contest against Kilmallie.
Further south, Kilmory ran out 10–1 winners over Aberdour, while Uddingston followed with a 9–0 win against Tayforth in one of the most dominant performances of the weekend.
In the women’s competitions, several matches were postponed due to unplayable pitches, but Strathspey recorded a 5–1 win over Aberdour and Lovat secured a 3–1 victory against Inverness.
With the season now underway, the early signs point to a competitive campaign across every division, with momentum already building in the opening weeks.
