High Life Highland libraries are set to transform next week, from 10th to 16th March, hosting a series of fundraising events.

These events range from craft fairs and book sales to coffee mornings and musical performances.

The charity aims to highlight its library services and boost donations to support ongoing investment in this essential community resource.

Julie Corcoran, Head of Libraries at High Life Highland, emphasises the multifaceted role of libraries.

They are not just places to borrow books or quiet spaces for study; they offer much more.

For children and families, there are BookBug sessions, as well as Lego and maths clubs.

Adults can participate in a wide range of activities, including craft clubs, book clubs, and author visits.

Libraries also provide access to IT facilities and digital support.

People can simply come in out of the cold, have a seat, and read the papers if they wish, with no obligation to spend any money.

They are truly at the centre of every community, and at High Life Highland, we are very proud of what we offer.

With this in mind, and to ensure the continuation of this vital role, a focused fundraising drive is planned for next week.

Visitors can enjoy tea and cake, purchase books or handmade crafts, all in support of boosting the donations target.

Highlights during Fundraising Week include badge-making sessions at Inverness and Inshes libraries.

A family fun day and pop-up café at Culloden Library are also on the agenda.

Dingwall Community Library will host a plant sale.

Portree Library features a Knitting Club sale.

Cake sales are planned at Glenurquhart Library and Learning Centre.

These events offer something for everyone, reflecting the diverse services libraries provide.

To find out more about what is happening, contact your local library.

Alternatively, donations can be made online at the High Life Highland website.

Supporting these events ensures that libraries can continue to serve as invaluable community hubs, offering resources and activities for all ages.

Libraries are more than just book repositories; they are vibrant centres of learning, creativity, and community engagement.

Participating in the upcoming fundraising events is a way to show appreciation and support for these essential institutions.

Whether you’re interested in crafts, literature, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee in a welcoming environment, there’s something for everyone during this special week.

Join in the celebrations and contribute to the future of your local library.

Your support helps maintain the diverse services and programs that make libraries a cornerstone of our communities.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to be part of this exciting initiative.

Remember, every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.

Let’s come together to ensure that our libraries continue to thrive and adapt to the needs of all community members.

Mark your calendars for 10th to 16th March and be a part of this meaningful cause.
