Newtonmore faced mixed fortunes as they suffered a cup upset before bouncing back in the league.

On Friday night, Newtonmore swept past Beauly 4-1 in Mowi North Division 1 with goals from Glen MacKintosh, James Coyle and Finlay Dunbar sealing the win.

Beauly’s only response came from Keith MacKenzie but Newtonmore were well in control throughout.

Saturday brought a shock, as Skye sent Newtonmore crashing out of the MacTavish Cup with a 3-1 win at The Eilean.

Ruaraidh MacLeod struck twice for Skye while an own goal from Daniel Sloss added to Newtonmore’s misery despite a goal from Joe Coyle.

The Highland Industrial Supplies Sutherland Cup saw Aberdeen Uni handed a walkover after Boleskine failed to field a team.

Strachur-Dunoon edged Uddingston 5-4 in a thrilling clash with Brandon Wilson and Spencer Thoms on target before late goals secured their spot.

In the Women’s Premier League, Badenoch defeated Kinlochshiel 3-1 with goals from Hope Borthwick and Grace Fraser.
