The Scottish National Party (SNP) have selected a graduate of the Royal Air Force’s leadership school at Cranwell to contest the Ward 11 Caol and Mallaig Highland Council by-election, going to the polls on September 25th.

Aaron Taylor, 33, graduated from the leadership school before serving as a sergeant in the Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

A proud father, Taylor is also a charity fundraiser and a Highland Hospital Radio DJ.

Taylor said:

“It’s an absolute honour to be selected to represent the SNP at this crucial by-election.

“Family and duty mean everything to me as well as being part of the community of the Highlands.

“I’m a hard worker, always prepared to lead from the front and get stuck in.

“I’m looking forward to speaking to people on the doors around the Caol and Mallaig ward and having some discussions especially around Additional Support Needs in schools and support for children with healthcare issues, topics which are close to my heart and personal experience.

“Already the SNP/Independent-led administration in Inverness is working to ensure a clear, strategic vision which is allowing for a better allocation of resources across the whole of Highland and I am proud that the £2billion Highland Investment Plan is already making a difference across Ward 11 as in so many other places.”
