Moray SNP Council Group’s Co-Leaders have issued the following statements following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

Moray SNP Council Group Co-Leader Graham Leadbitter said:

“As our longest serving monarch, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has been a constant in the lives of people in Moray, Scotland, the UK and the Commonwealth for 70 years.

“Her commitment to public life, including visits to Moray, cannot be overstated and her loss will be greatly felt by many, many people.

“Our thoughts are with her family and with those who share that grief.”

Moray SNP Council Group Co-Leader Shona Morrison said:

“The loss of Her Majesty The Queen is a very sad day for our nation and marks the passing of someone who has dedicated their life to public service as our Head of State.

“The Queen is held in great affection by many millions around the world and her strong ties to Moray make that loss all the more keenly felt amongst our local communities.

“May she rest in peace.”
