Three young men have been arrested after police uncovered drugs worth an estimated £37,000 and a substantial quantity of cash during a raid on a property in Elgin.
The operation took place at an address in Langstane Place on Tuesday following intelligence gathered by officers investigating suspected drug activity in the area.
Cannabis and cocaine were recovered during the search along with a five figure sum of cash believed to be linked to the supply of illegal drugs.
The discovery is the latest in a series of efforts by police to disrupt the movement of drugs into communities across Moray.
Residents living nearby watched as officers carried out the search, which resulted in three males aged 16, 18 and 20 being arrested.
All three were charged with drugs offences and were due to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
Detective Constable Freeman said:
“We are committed to tackling the supply and distribution of illegal substances and will continue to take proactive action to remove drugs from our communities.
“Intelligence from the public is vital.
“If you have any information about drugs, please bring it to the attention of police.
“We will fully investigate and take the appropriate action.”
Police say information from local communities continues to play an important role in identifying suspected drug activity and helping officers target those involved in the supply of illegal substances.
The investigation remains ongoing.
