The Tory UK Transport Minister, Grant Shapps, has been slammed by the Scottish Greens for his failure to prevent the UK’s rail network from grinding to a halt this week.
Commenting, Scottish Greens transport spokesperson Mark Ruskell MSP said:
“The behaviour of the UK Government, and in particular the Transport Secretary Grant Shapps, during this dispute has been disgraceful.
“This shameless Tory government is presiding over the worst cost of living crisis in decades, yet the Transport Secretary is more interested in trying to foster a culture war than actually ensure a fair pay settlement is delivered.
“It’s utterly galling that so many people, in Scotland and across the UK, will be inconvenienced because of Mr Shapps’ inability to do his job properly.
“The Scottish Green Party stands in solidarity with those taking industrial action this week.”
