Nairn is gearing up to host a modern and classic and vehicle show next month which will attract over 200 engines to the town.

Wheels of Nairn, located at the town’s scenic Links, promises to be a great day out for all the family.

The event, which is now in its third year, will showcase over 200 different cars and bikes in 14 categories.

Vehicles are being encouraged to take part in a drive-off up the High Street when the event closes at 3pm.

The day will kick off at 10am and is being organised by Nairn BID and is sponsored by local car dealer Nairn Car Sales.

Wheels of Nairn first took place in 2019 and has grown each year.

This year’s event will again feature over 30 stallholders, food vendors, face painters, a teacup ride and other family-friendly attractions.

Lucy Harding, Nairn BID manager said:

“Once again, Wheels of Nairn is a sell-out success and it’s no wonder as it is an amazing day out.

“We have over 200 vehicles booked in, including motorbikes and we are also delighted to be welcoming several car clubs.

“There’s also some great fun activities for all the family including a beat the goalie being run by Jacko’s Bar, and a chance to get up close and personal with Shetland ponies, birds of prey and huskies.”

Lucy added:

“We have huge support from Nairn Rotary Club who provide us with the registration tent and marshals, but as you can imagine, an event like this takes a huge amount of people power so if there’s anyone out there who would like to help, all they need to do is get in touch.

“This year we have secured the Viewfield for paid parking, so this will require additional volunteers to help manage that.

“Our sponsors and volunteers are a crucial part of the Nairn BID events schedule and we are so very grateful to the businesses who have helped us out, not only with this event, but with previous events too.

“Events are a great way to show off our lovely town and are a perfect platform for publicity.”

Supporting the event this year is Nairn Car Sales which launched last year.

It’s a family-run business and is a rebrand of the car sales operating at West End Garage.

Dean Clark, a director of the business said he and his team are once again looking forward to the event.

“We are so excited that Wheels of Nairn is back.

“It is a brilliant event with so many amazing vehicles, great atmosphere, and of course footfall.

“It was a super way for us to get the Nairn Car Sales branding out there last year and we are delighted to be able to support the event again.

“We really enjoyed the day itself and it was wonderful being able to meet so many of the vehicle owners and learn more about their passion.”

Wheels of Nairn takes place at the Links on September 23 between 10am and 3pm.
