Two people have died following a crash on the A830 at Corpach near Fort William in the early hours of Saturday 21st of February 2026.
Emergency services were called around 3am after a vehicle fire was reported on the road.
The fire was extinguished and the bodies of two people were discovered inside the car.
Formal identification has yet to take place, but the families of two males aged 16 and 44 have been informed.
Police believe the single vehicle crash involving a blue Vauxhall Astra happened around 1.45am.
The A830 was closed while crash investigators examined the scene and reopened around 7pm on Sunday 22nd of February.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay said:
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died in this crash.”
“It’s vital we establish exactly what happened and I’m appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“If you were on the A830 in the early hours of Saturday morning and saw anything which may help, please come forward.
“I’d also appeal to drivers with dash cam footage of the area around the time to review this for anything significant.”
The A830 is a key route linking Fort William with the west coast and is well used at all hours by locals, workers and visitors.
Police are asking anyone who was travelling on the road around 1.45am to think carefully about what they may have seen.
