Two people who died following a crash near Fort William have been named as David Allan Mackay, aged 44, and Kai Mathieson, aged 16, both from the Corpach area.

Emergency services were called to the A830 at Corpach around 3am on Saturday 21 February 2026 after a report of a vehicle on fire.
Fire crews and police attended the scene and extinguished the blaze.
Further enquiries later established that the vehicle, a blue Vauxhall Astra, had been involved in a single vehicle crash earlier that morning.
Police believe the crash happened at around 1.45am on the road near Corpach.
Officers are continuing to investigate what happened in the hours before the vehicle was discovered on fire.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay said the thoughts of officers remain with those affected by the tragedy.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died in this crash.
“We ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”
Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have seen something that could help with their investigation.
“I would again appeal to anyone who was driving on the A830 in the early hours of 21 February and has not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“If you witnessed anything which may help or have relevant dash cam footage around the time we ask that you contact us as soon as possible.”
