Van Gogh Immersive Experience Dazzles Aberdeen Audiences

A breathtaking journey through the world of Vincent van Gogh has arrived in Aberdeen and it’s already drawing crowds.

Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience opened this weekend at P&J Live, transforming the north-east venue into a swirling dreamscape of light, colour and iconic brushstrokes.

Running until 10 August, the exhibition blends more than 300 of Van Gogh’s paintings with projection, sound and storytelling to create a sensory feast unlike anything else.

Visitors walk through the art itself, surrounded by luminous fields of sunflowers, star-swirled skies and glowing Parisian cafés as famous works like The Starry Night and Terrace of a Café at Night come alive around them.

The experience has already captivated over seven million people worldwide and earned glowing reviews when it made its Scottish debut in Glasgow last summer, where 50,000 visitors came through the doors.

Timed tickets for the Aberdeen run are selling fast, with new events like yoga and Pilates sessions held inside the immersive space proving especially popular.

There’s also a ‘Paint and Sip’ night for those looking to tap into their own creative spark while inspired by Van Gogh’s vision.

Anna Parry of Annerin Productions, who co-produced the exhibition with Paquin Entertainment, said Aberdeen audiences have embraced the experience from day one.

“What a brilliant opening weekend,” she said.

“The venue looks absolutely stunning, and seeing visitors of all ages stepping into Vincent’s world has been really special.

“With the school holidays underway, it’s the perfect outing for families as well.”

The journey begins in the Introduction Hall, where visitors read extracts from Van Gogh’s letters to his brother Theo.

From there, they enter the heart of the show the Immersive Room where art leaves the canvas and flows across the walls and floors in a constantly shifting display of colour, motion and music.

The entire experience is set to a beautifully curated score, bringing added depth to the story of Van Gogh’s life, from hardship to inspiration.

Even those less familiar with Van Gogh’s work will find themselves drawn in, with the immersive style providing a powerful and emotional access point into the artist’s world.

VIP Experience tickets offer flexible arrival times, fast track entry and exclusive merchandise, while younger visitors can enjoy a dedicated colouring and drawing area inside the on-site shop.

P&J Live, Scotland’s largest events complex, is hosting the experience in its award-winning, renewably powered venue next to Aberdeen International Airport.

Tickets, including family packages and add-on events, are available now via www.pandjlive.com and www.beyondvangogh.co.uk.
