The Highland Council on behalf of the Inverness Common Good Fund is pleased to announce the addition of 3 new tenants to the Victorian Market, Inverness.
Provost of Inverness Cllr Glynis Sinclair said:
“It is great to see Ortak Jewellery, Salt N Fire and Inverness Whisky – well-known and established businesses see the value of investing within the Victorian Market.
“Having the Ortak brand return to the city is very welcome.
“The new businesses opening in Market Hall will add to the vibrancy this new destination will bring.”
Ortak Jewellery are delighted to be taking over Uppercut in the Victorian Market, continuing both the jewellery shop and the barber shop which has been in the market for over 40 years.
Some much loved Ortak designs have been stocked in Uppercut previously and they look forward to extending the ranges and bringing a wide variety of jewellery options to the store, nestled in the wonderful location of the Victorian Market.
Ortak has been handcrafting jewellery for over 50 years with heritage at the heart of their brand, something that pairs well with the rich history of the market and adds to the excitement for their new expansion.

Salt N Fire “Good Mood Food” are a brotherhood of classically trained chefs and front of house team from the Scottish Borders with the goal to change the game of food and service.
After years of working in 5-star establishments and working for Albert Roux they decided to take the leap and begin their own journey.
In November they opened their first restaurant ‘The Night Safe’ in Hawick.
Due to the pandemic they were hit with lockdown a month later.
To keep the restaurant going they started to serve street food as a takeaway and this is where the people urged the idea of Salt N Fire.
They now run 2 restaurants and a Salt N Fire in the Scottish Borders with their first solely Vegan Salt N Fire opening in Inverness in August.
They were inspired to expand into Inverness as they see the Highlands as a great destination for visitors and they want to share their unique experience with the local community.

Inverness Whisky – have just celebrated their 5th birthday at The Malt Room and are extremely excited for their next chapter and delighted to share the news that they are opening a specialist whisky shop in the Victorian Market.
They interact with a variety of customers, from supportive locals to whisky fans and novices from all over the world.
The one recurring request is for whisky that can’t be found anywhere else, something different.
“Inverness Whisky” will focus on exactly that, highlighting the smaller independent distillers, single casks and elusive whisky.
Having seen the day-to-day progress of the redevelopment, they think the space is going to be a superb offering for locals and visitors and are delighted to be part of the story.
