Families across the Highlands are invited to Eden Court in Inverness for a free family fun day celebrating community, support and play, all part of the Vision 2026 programme.

The event, taking place on Monday 11 August from 10am to 1pm, is hosted by the Highland Children’s Services Partnership and brings together organisations from across the region in support of children and families.

The Vision 2026 Family Fun Day builds on the success of March’s Brighter Beginnings event, continuing the work of the Integrated Children’s Services Board in delivering meaningful, community-driven support.

With a focus on families with children under 12, the day promises hands-on activities including Giant Jenga, parachute games, balance bikes and baby massage sessions from 11am.

Outdoor play will be in full swing at Northern Meeting Park, and goodie bags will be available while stocks last.

Ian Kyle, Chair of the Integrated Children’s Services Board, said the event reflects the energy and ambition behind the Highland-wide plan to support young people and their families.

“I hope that many families with young children will come along to this fantastic event in Inverness,” he said.

“The Integrated Children’s Service Plan 2023–26 was developed by the Integrated Children’s Service Board and is an ambitious plan to strengthen links across our communities and which aims to provide much-needed support for families.”

“I’m delighted that so many organisations and partners have been able to come together to support families throughout Highland and can now celebrate their achievements with our communities.”

The Highland Integrated Children’s Services Plan, launched in 2023, outlines six key priorities for action, poverty, child protection, corporate parenting, drugs and alcohol, health and wellbeing, and children’s rights and participation.

Vision 2026 is not just a policy name, but a shared approach bringing together services, communities and families with a clear purpose and commitment to work side by side.

The fun day at Eden Court is a chance to celebrate that work in action and to welcome families into the heart of it.
