The Dana Petroleum-operated, Western Isles, floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) facility, arrived in Scapa Flow on Friday evening (19 July 2024).
Towing the FPSO were the Skandi Mercury and the Skandi Perigrino, with the standby safety vessel Vos Venture following.
The Orkney Harbours tug Odin was connected to assist in bringing the Western Isles into Scapa Flow to anchor.
The anchors were pre laid several weeks ago and it is expected to take around four to five days to complete the anchoring process.
Western Isles will remain at anchor for several months.
Whilst here there will be ongoing refit and repair work before the facility moves on to its next location.
The company is committed to doing all it can to support the local economy by using local contractors and suppliers as much as possible.
