Zizzi Inverness has reopened its doors with a vibrant new design that blends Highland character with Tuscan warmth as the restaurant welcomes guests back for the festive season.

The restaurant completed its full refurbishment ahead of its reopening on 25 November giving diners a bright new space in which to enjoy Zizzi’s Christmas menu.

Situated on the banks of the River Ness, the refreshed interior now features a striking original mural created by artist Bri Chartrand.

The artwork brings together Zizzi’s Italian heritage and the stories of the Highlands with scenes of Loch Ness, local wildlife and playful nods to Gaelic symbols and Scottish folklore.

As part of Zizzi tradition, each restaurant receives a brand new pizza oven during refurbishment and each oven is given its own name.

In Inverness the oven has been christened Niseag which is the Scottish Gaelic name for Nessie.

The restaurant seats 90 guests inside with space for a further 14 outdoors during the warmer months.

Diners arriving for Christmas meals will also be welcomed by Zizzi’s iconic life size yellow tree which forms the centrepiece of the newly refreshed space.

The reopening arrives in time for festive gatherings over the Christmas set menu which is priced at £29.95 per person.

The menu brings together Italian flavours and Christmas favourites in dishes created especially for the season.

Among the festive options is The Festive Bombe which is a garlic bombe filled with chestnut and cranberry crumbled pork meatballs, crispy prosciutto, sage and Roquito hot honey.

The Crust Mas Rustica pizza is topped with cranberry and chestnut stuffing, Taleggio, roasted potatoes, ‘nduja, Roquito pepper pearls, Roquito hot honey, crispy prosciutto and sage.

The vegetarian option, the Roasties Rustica pizza, features roasted potatoes, Fior di Latte Mozzarella, cranberries, Roquito pepper pearls, crispy sage, Riserva cheese crisp, sunblush tomatoes and Roquito hot honey and can also be served as a vegan dish.

Another festive choice is the Porcini and Prosciutto Roast Chicken which includes Prosciutto wrapped chicken breast with Taleggio and cranberries, winter greens, butternut squash, crispy Riserva potatoes and Porcini mushroom sauce with a £2.75 supplement.

Guests can also choose from seasonal small plates including Black Truffle Arancini served with a hot cheese fondue and The Christmas Catch which is a dish of oven baked pasta shells filled with lobster, prawn, mascarpone, lemon, white wine and Pomodoro sauce with a garlic bread lobster and a £2.75 supplement.

Desserts include a Panettone Bread and Butter Pudding served with gelato and Christmas Bombolini which are Italian doughnuts filled with Biscoff spread and coated in orange and cinnamon sugar with salted caramel sauce.

Festive cocktails and mocktails include the Berry and Bright Cocktail and the Spiced Berry Sparkle Mocktail both served with Santa’s candy floss beard.

There are also three new Jingle Shots named Baby Guinness, The Nutcracker and Elf Cioccolata and groups can share a magnum bottle of Prosecco for added celebration.
