Families will be able to travel across Scotland by train for seven consecutive days for £60 during the October school holidays as ScotRail brings back its Family Pass.
The ticket covers up to two adults and four children and offers unlimited travel on ScotRail services during a seven day period, with journeys able to begin between Monday 12 October and Monday 19 October.
It is the third time ScotRail has offered the Family Pass following its introduction last October and its return during the Easter holidays.
The fixed price ticket is designed to give families greater freedom to make several journeys during the school break without having to buy separate tickets for each day out.
Up to six people can travel together using a single pass, provided the group consists of no more than two adults and four children.
Once activated, the Family Pass remains valid for seven consecutive days and can be used for as many journeys on ScotRail services as the family wants to make during that period.
Families starting their seven days on the final available date of Monday 19 October will therefore be able to continue using the pass until Sunday 25 October.
Weekday travel is available after 9.15am, while there are no time restrictions on Saturdays and Sundays.
The offer opens up the possibility of using the train for several different trips during the same holiday, whether that means visiting another part of Scotland, seeing friends and relatives or simply choosing somewhere new for a day out.
For families across the Highlands, the pass could also make longer journeys to other parts of Scotland more affordable where several trips are planned during the break.

The Family Pass is available to buy now and will remain on sale until Monday 19 October.
Tickets can be purchased through ScotRail’s website or at ticket offices, as well as on board trains when passengers begin their journey at a station without ticket buying facilities.
