A Moray based construction and fabrication company was on the ball on recently when it hosted a successful Sponsors Day at Forres Mechanics Football Club.

The event hosted by Forres-based AJ Engineering and Construction Services brought together players and families from the Forres Mechanics Youth Development programme and Forres Girls Football.

With around 200 people in attendance, the event celebrated how these teams with support from volunteers are helping local grassroots football go from strength to strength. 

Young players had the chance to sharpen their skills during a series of coaching drills on the pitch, led by members of the Forres Mechanics first team and the club’s manager, who passed on advice, encouragement and top tips to the next generation of footballers.

Off the pitch, young players and families enjoyed a barbecue and complimentary ice creams.

Afterwards everyone was welcome to support the Forres Mechanics first team as they played their final pre-season friendly of the season against New Elgin. 

The day was a winning combination of football, fun and community spirit and AJE was delighted to arrange it.

“As a sponsor of Mechanics and the youth set ups I felt it was important that there was an opportunity for them all to come together, show off their skills on the Mosset Park, and for the volunteers and families to get some recognition for the commitment and support they give.

“It was great to have so many new, and many younger, faces in the crowd supporting the Can Cans, hopefully they will be a regular feature throughout the season.”

In 2023, AJE became the strip sponsor of the Forres Mechanics First team and continues the sponsorship along with sponsorship of youth teams.
