Are All People Mad or Are Only Some People Mad?

As the poet John Lydgate said: “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.”

Before anyone gets on their high horse and accuses us of some sort of bigotry, racism, alienism or whatever ism, this is a fun piece and just a comment on comments that get left on the line on our social media pages.

From the get go when we launched in 2014 we made it clear that we support an independent and free Scotland, I think any of our long-term readership who have been with us from the start will be aware of this.

We have gone from a standing start in 2014 to where we are now in 2020 an established independent freedom supporting publication.

Not bad for a provincial online publication that is privately funded, maintained and run with no funding or support from anyone but our good selves.

Hopefully that will change when we launch The Highland Times mark II website where we will be selling advertising and suchlike.

But we digress, back to the comments.

We have been accused of being Tory sympathisers, now there are many many insults that we ignore, but, heavens to murgatroyd Tory sympathisers, we just couldn’t let that one go, that’s the worst insult ever and we mean ever.

Come on guys, clean your act up and stop using this sort of language on the line on our social media pages, we don’t want to have to bar anyone, but a line has been crossed.

Saor Alba Gu Brath.

Keep safe.

Thank you for your support, all at THT.
