A fun-filled day for young families is coming to Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on Monday 3 March 2025.
The Highland Council is hosting the Brighter Beginnings event, offering a range of free activities for children under five.
Cllr David Fraser, Chair of Highland Council’s Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Committee, said he hopes families take full advantage of this fantastic new opportunity.
Brighter Beginnings, organised by Inverness Family Centre, will bring together families and professionals to explore what’s available for Highland’s youngest children.
The event runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm and features messy play, a scavenger hunt, outdoor activities, and entertaining puppet shows.
Exciting attractions such as a fire engine, a police car, and a play bus will be on-site for children to explore.
The first 100 parents or carers to arrive will receive a free goodie bag packed with treats and useful resources.
Gillian Forbes, PEEP Co-ordinator at the Inverness Family Centre, expressed her excitement about hosting the event and welcoming families to engage with services and enjoy the activities.
She highlighted the importance of working with families to provide young children with the best possible start in life.
Running alongside the fun day is the ‘Brighter Beginnings: Why Early Years Matter’ Conference, where key experts will share insights into early childhood development.
One of the keynote speakers is Dan Wuori, Founder and President of Early Childhood Policy Solutions in the United States, and a respected international author.
Dan said he is eager to visit the Highlands and discuss the crucial role of education in the early years of a child’s life.
He emphasised that learning begins before birth and that parents, carers, and professionals play a fundamental role in shaping a child’s future.
Over 100 parents, carers, and professionals are expected to attend the conference alongside young children under five.
This event promises to be a valuable opportunity for families to connect, learn, and enjoy a fun-filled day with their little ones.
