Inverness residents will soon have more choice about where and when they can speak to a careers adviser
From Monday 1 July, Skills Development Scotland (SDS), the organisation that delivers the national career service, will operate a new timetable across the Inverness area.
SDS advisers offer free, impartial career information, advice and guidance for people of all ages in secondary schools, centres and community venues across Scotland.
In preparation for this change, the SDS Inverness team moved out of the career centre on Inverness’s Church Street on Friday 21 June.
Anthony Standing, SDS Head of Operations North explains:
“Although we’ve moved out of our Inverness centre, customers will still be able to access face-to-face career information, advice and guidance in the Inverness area as we make use of community sites to make ourselves more available to our customers.
“This will give customers across Inverness and the surrounding area more flexibility about where and when they visit us and is great news for customers who previously had to travel into the city centre to speak to a careers adviser.
“Our professionally qualified careers advisers will also be available to Inverness College students three days a week at Inverness Campus.
“We’re looking forward to reaching more customers across the area and working closely with our partners to deliver community-based career services that are accessible for more people.”
Customers can contact the Inverness team on 01463 382 990 to make an appointment, whatever stage they’re at in their career.
