Lochaber Area Committee Members met yesterday (Tuesday 23 January 2024) and received a report on the Corran Ferry from the services Operations Manager, which included a repair update for the Maid of Glencoul.

Economy and Infrastructure Committee Chair, Cllr Ken Gowans said:

“I’m glad to hear that the suppliers of the propulsion unit can shortly visit the Maid of Glencoul to test out a proposed system solution.

“It remains a priority to have the Maid of Glencoul back in operation as soon as possible as a support vessel for the MV Corran, whilst the Council continues their efforts to secure suitable funding for the replacement ferry programme.”

The Corran Ferry update report is available here (Item 4).
