Controlled drugs with an estimated street value of more than £3,000 have been recovered during a police operation in Caithness.

Officers attended a number of properties in Thurso and Wick on Monday, 7 September, as part of a day of action in the area.

Police said a quantity of controlled drugs was recovered during the operation.

Cash and an air weapon were also seized by officers.

A 40 year old man and a 37 year old woman will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police said the recoveries formed part of their continuing work to tackle the supply and distribution of illegal drugs within local communities.

Detective Inspector Duncan Jones said:

“These recoveries highlight our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our local communities.

“They also underline our commitment to the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.

“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the drugs trade and preventing their distribution.
