The deadline to enter this year’s Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running is approaching, with online entry closing on 25th September.
The final spaces are available for the 21st edition of the event which takes place on Sunday 1st October.
Entry is available for Baxters River Ness 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, Baxters River Ness 5K and Wee Nessie, as well as some charity and club runner places for the marathon.
Over the event weekend, runners from around the world will descend upon the Highland capital for what is a bucket-list marathon for many.
“The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is one of the world’s most scenic marathons and each year we welcome runners from near and far to experience the spectacular scenery and warm Highland welcome for themselves,” said Malcolm Sutherland, Event & Race Director of Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running.
“It’s your last chance to sign-up online for the Baxters River Ness 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, Baxters River Ness 5K and Wee Nessie, and I’d encourage anyone thinking about signing up to do so now.
“The atmosphere over the event weekend is always fantastic so, whether you’re running the marathon or 5K and whatever your ability, get involved!”
The Event Village will also be open at Bught Park over the weekend from Saturday 30th September to race day on Sunday 1st October.
This includes a Sports Expo with pop-up shops from leading sports brands, as well as a Runners’ Café offering delicious street food, plus live traditional Scottish music hosted by broadcaster Bryan Burnett.
Many runners will be taking part for charity and there are some charity spaces still available in the marathon, including for official charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
